National Cadet League, 1st Weekend Report 2007

A good day for the Pavilion Cadet Team at Chesham.

Firstly the ETTA has now issued the new ratings list which has removed the players moving out of each age group.
Michael Rutherford 12 yrs now sits at No, 16 U13 Boy’s, No, 76 Cadet Boys.
Tony Steel 11 yrs no,58 U13 Boy’s No, 240 Cadet Boys
James Miller 13 (Lancing TTC) is not rated at present but will soon be included in the Cadet boys list.

Game 1 saw our team take on Peniel who were a player short.
Michael took 2/2 against Marvin Obi (112) & Nat Atol (?)
Tony & James both beat Nat so a 7-2 Win in game 1

Game 2 was tough, with loads of 5 setters
North Herts team was Glenn Verdon (86) Tom Bains (141) Isac Beevor (182)
James was star man in this match with 2 wins against Isac & Tom, Michael had a dip in form for this match and only took 1 win against Isac although both the others were close & on another day may well have been a max.
Tony also took 1 Game against Isac, and had a thrilling 5 setter against Glenn (160 places above in ratings) so a 5-4 defeat but as each point counts in the league table this narrow loss was not to damaging

Game 3 was a clash against Ashford a good 7-2 win for our boys. George Heath (120), Lewis Mcfarlain (195) & David Robinson (?) made up the Ashford Trio
3 for James 2 each for Tony & Michael both losing out to George both in close games.

So 18 Points out of a possible 27
