Pavilion Table Tennis Club, based at Kings Manor Community College, hosted the Shoreham leg of the 2008-09 Sussex Junior Table Tennis Circuit on 28th September 2008. Organised by the Sussex Table Tennis Alliance, the club welcomed more than 80 junior players of all abilities from those who were new players to the games up to International standard.
With the players banded by ability we saw 38 juniors compete in the morning session and 60 compete in the afternoon session. Gold & silver medals were awarded to the first and second places. The juniors also earned ranking points which will be carried forward to successive rounds of the circuit.
This was the first time Pavilion Table Tennis Club had hosted a tournament at Kings Manor Community College since relocating there in January this year and with the support of the school staff it proved to be a very successful event. It was a fantastic sight to see 16 tables in one hall all being used by juniors playing a sport that can be played by anyone at any level.
Pavilion Table Tennis Club run an open practice session on Sunday evenings and offer junior coaching on a Monday evening. See our website www.pavilionttc.co.uk for further details.
